Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band - Garden Party / So Long Mama

Description
There’s a little country-rock ease in the way this 1972 single brings its songs together. Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band pair “Garden Party” with “So Long Mama,” moving between pop-rock’s directness and country music’s knack for making a song feel like a story shared across the room. That blend gives the record its own character: grounded in familiar songcraft, yet open to the looser edge of rock. Issued by Decca as 32980, the single comes from a period when country and rock were finding lively common ground in popular music. Its two titles preserve that meeting in compact form.
