Ricky Skaggs - Uncle Pen / I'm Head Over Heels In Love

Description
“Uncle Pen” carries the name of a beloved figure in bluegrass tradition, where tunes are passed along as naturally as family stories. Ricky Skaggs brings that old-time country heritage into focus, then turns to the tender promise of “I'm Head Over Heels In Love.” The pairing moves from a roots-minded tribute to a love song, showing how country can hold reverence and romance close together. Skaggs is a country musician, and his connection to bluegrass gives this 1983 release a clear place in the ongoing conversation between the two traditions. Sugar Hill Epic issued it as 34-04527; the songs link inherited music with affection in the present tense.
