Roger Williams - Autumn Leaves / Take Care

Description
Roger Williams gives “Autumn Leaves” a graceful place to linger, drawing on the song’s long life as a jazz standard while keeping the melody at the heart of the telling. In instrumental music, a familiar tune can become a conversation: the notes are known, yet each phrasing leaves room for a fresh turn. That balance suits Williams’s easy-listening world, where pop’s directness and jazz’s expressive language meet without fuss. The Kapp Records single, K-116 X, turns to “Take Care” on the reverse, carrying the same quiet invitation to let a melody speak for itself. These standards endure because their melodies keep welcoming new interpretations.
