Rusty Draper - Mule Skinner Blues / Please Help Me, I'm Falling

Description
Country music has always made room for songs that feel like they’ve travelled a long way before reaching the listener. Rusty Draper brings two very different titles together here: “Mule Skinner Blues” carries the name of a song rooted in the working-song tradition, while “Please Help Me, I'm Falling” turns to the language of a heartfelt plea. Their contrast gives this Mercury Records single, catalog 71634X45, its own little narrative: one title points toward labor and movement, the other toward vulnerability. Both belong to country’s gift for making a story immediately legible, whether it begins on the road or in the heart.
