Samantha Sang - Emotion / When Love Is Gone

Description
Samantha Sang opens “Emotion” with a title that feels made for the intimate drama of a soul ballad: a voice carrying a feeling plainly, without needing to dress it up. Pop and soul have long met in songs like this, where a direct melody gives the singer room to make every line personal. The 1977 single pairs “Emotion” with “When Love Is Gone,” bringing a second tender title into the story without spelling out what either song must sound like. Issued on Private Stock Records as PSR 45,178, this US pressing catches a moment when vocal pop could wear its heart openly.
