Sammy Johns - Early Morning Love / Holy Mother, Aging Father

Description
Released in 1973, Sammy Johns’s “Early Morning Love” pairs a plainspoken title with the more reflective “Holy Mother, Aging Father.” In country music, intimate songs often make everyday relationships feel expansive, finding lasting meaning in family, affection and the passages of ordinary life. These two titles suggest that kind of human scale without needing grand gestures: one turns toward love at daybreak, the other toward the bonds that shape a life. Grc issued the single as catalog number GRC 2021, a small piece of early-’70s country whose titles invite a listener to linger over the ties that matter.
