Sanford/Townsend Band / Emilio Pericoli With Giampiero Boneschi's Orchestra - Smoke From A Distant Fire / Al Di La From "Rome Adventure"

Description
This 1976 US single brings together two very different pop traditions: Sanford/Townsend Band’s “Smoke From A Distant Fire” and Emilio Pericoli With Giampiero Boneschi's Orchestra’s “Al Di La From "Rome Adventure".” The first title sits in the soft-rock world, where polished pop songwriting meets rock’s easy forward motion; the second carries a classic traditional-pop title into an orchestral setting. That contrast gives the pairing its own little story, moving from contemporary band pop to the elegant songcraft of an earlier tradition. Issued by Warner Special Products as 9016, it connects two distinct approaches to memorable popular song on one 1976 release.
