Shannon - Give Me Tonight / Let The Music Play

Description
Shannon steps straight into the story with “Give Me Tonight,” a dance-pop invitation from 1984, when electronic textures were finding a lively home on the dance floor. Its sleek pulse belongs to the emerging freestyle tradition, where machine-made rhythm and soulful vocal expression could meet without losing their human warmth. On the flip, “Let The Music Play” keeps that conversation going, giving the record a second doorway into the era’s club-minded sound. Released through Atlantic Oldies Series as 7-84997, this USA pressing captures a moment when dance music was reshaping pop’s relationship with the groove—and Shannon’s songs remain part of that shared language.
