Steppenwolf - Sookie Sookie / Magic Carpet Ride

Description
Steppenwolf’s “Sookie Sookie” and “Magic Carpet Ride” bring two vivid titles together on a 7-inch single rooted in the restless energy of rock. Hard rock gives the music a sturdy, driving backbone, while psychedelic rock makes room for a wider, more exploratory spirit—a meeting that captures the era’s appetite for turning rock into something bigger and stranger. The contrast between the songs’ names invites curiosity without giving away their character; the pleasure is in following the record’s own path. This USA pressing pairs the tracks on Dunhill Abc Records, catalog number 45-4161. Steppenwolf’s blend of force and experimentation remains a compelling expression of rock’s adventurous side.
