Supertramp - Better Days / Cannonball

Description
Soft rock has a knack for letting a polished pop song carry a little ache without losing its lift. Supertramp bring that balance to this 1985 single, pairing “Better Days” with “Cannonball” in a moment when melodic songwriting and carefully shaped arrangements sat comfortably on the pop dial. The pleasure here is in the contrast of the titles: one reaches toward brighter prospects, while the other suggests a more forceful image, without either needing to be pinned down by a storyline. Issued by A&M Records as AM-8663, it belongs to the enduring soft-rock tradition of songs built to linger beyond their first play.
