Sylvia - Easy Evil / Easy Evil

Description
Soul can make a familiar phrase feel newly charged, and Sylvia’s “Easy Evil” arrives with just that kind of intrigue. In the 1970s, soul drew on gospel’s expressive force and rhythm and blues’ steady pulse, making room for voices that could turn a compact song into a vivid little drama. Here, the title itself is the invitation: “Easy Evil,” presented on both sides, keeps the focus on one striking idea. Vibration issued the 1974 single as VI-530, a concise entry in the era’s rich stream of soul records, where a memorable title could open the door to a whole musical world.
