Sylvia Syms With Percy Faith & His Orch. - I Wish I Knew (Notorious) / Lately

Description
A little cabaret goes a long way. Sylvia Syms With Percy Faith & His Orch. brings a poised vocal presence to the jazz-ballad and traditional-pop world, where a song can feel intimate without losing its polish. “I Wish I Knew (Notorious)” and “Lately” give this Columbia single, catalog number 4-41267, its distinct character: two titles that invite a moment with the song itself, rather than a rush past it. The United States pressing belongs to a tradition of popular singing shaped by jazz phrasing and cabaret’s close, direct address. It’s a lovely reminder of how much warmth a carefully delivered song can hold.
