Taylor Dayne - Ain't No Good / I'll Be Your Shelter

Description
“Ain’t No Good” sets the scene, while “I’ll Be Your Shelter” offers another doorway into Taylor Dayne’s polished late-’80s pop world. Freestyle and synth-pop meet here in a period style built around crisp electronic textures, rhythmic momentum and big, direct hooks—a lively thread in dance music’s long conversation with pop songwriting. Dayne is a pop singer, and this 1989 Arista single, catalog AS-2005, brings both titles together with the confident, accessible spirit of the era. The contrast between a sharp-edged title and one that promises refuge gives the record its own small narrative, rooted in the enduring pull of a memorable pop refrain.
