The Congregation - Softly Whispering I Love You / Softly Whispering I Love You

Description
There’s a lovely bit of pop-rock drama in a title that simply can’t be said just once. The Congregation’s “Softly Whispering I Love You” appears on both sides of this 1971 UK single, turning one tender phrase into the record’s whole little world. Pop rock has long made room for grand feeling delivered in an accessible, singable form, and this release sits neatly in that tradition: direct in its sentiment, with a title built to linger. Columbia issued it as DB 8830. The repetition is part of the charm—a quiet declaration that, in pop, sometimes one good line is enough to carry a song.
