The Dirt Band - Take Me Back / An American Dream

Description
Rock songs can hold a whole journey in a few minutes, and this 1979 single lets two titles set different points on the map. The Dirt Band opens with “Take Me Back,” a phrase that turns the mind toward return; flip it over for “An American Dream,” whose title looks outward toward possibility. The contrast gives the record its own small narrative, without needing either side to explain the other. Soft rock often makes room for songs that feel direct and approachable, while keeping the familiar shape of a rock single. Issued in the USA by United Artists Records as UA-X1330-Y, it leaves both destinations in play.
