The Dramatics - Live It Up / She's My Kind Of Girl

Description
A little funk, a little disco, and plenty of soul: The Dramatics bring that blend to “Live It Up” and “She's My Kind Of Girl.” The two titles sit in the moment when dance music drew on soul’s expressive vocal tradition while leaning into a steadier, more club-minded pulse. There’s a lovely tension in that mix: the warmth of soul remains at the center, even as disco and funk invite the body to move. Issued by Capitol as B-5103 in 1982, this U.S. 7-inch single connects the group’s name with a lively stretch of American dance music, where groove and feeling belong together.
