The Five Discs - That Was The Time / Never Let You Go

Description
“That Was The Time” and “Never Let You Go” place The Five Discs in the tender world of vocal-group soul, where a song’s feeling can rest on the closeness of the voices and the patience of a ballad. The titles suggest two different turns in a love story, but the appeal of this tradition lies in how simply a group can make emotion feel shared: one voice reaches out, and others give it a gentle echo. Collectables brings the songs together as C 1204, a USA 7-inch single. The Five Discs’ name belongs here among the intimate harmonies that made vocal-group music such a natural home for romantic songs.
