The Flying Machine - Maybe We've Been Loving Too Long / Smile A Little Smile For Me

Description
The Flying Machine bring two sides of late-sixties pop into conversation on this Congress single, C-6000. “Maybe We've Been Loving Too Long” sets one title before us, then “Smile A Little Smile For Me” offers another, giving the record a neat contrast in feeling without needing a grand story around it. Pop and soft rock often found their appeal in concise songs that could carry tenderness and lift in just a few minutes; that balance is part of the tradition this pairing calls to mind. The Flying Machine’s name belongs to both titles here, making this a small, focused entry in vocal pop’s enduring art of the single.
