The Isley Brothers - Go For Your Guns / Livin' In The Life

Description
Here’s funk with a sure-footed strut. The Isley Brothers bring the deep pocket and sharp, communal spirit of soul into P.Funk territory, where a groove can feel both tightly held and ready to open up. “Go For Your Guns” and “Livin' In The Life” make a compelling pairing, with their titles capturing two distinct sparks of attitude without needing to tell the whole story. On T-Neck, catalog number ZS8 2267, this 1977 U.S. single sits in a rich tradition of funk built on repetition, syncopation and collective energy. The pleasure is in how a steady beat keeps making room for movement.
