The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Face On The Cutting Room Floor / I Love Only You

Description
“Face On The Cutting Room Floor” paired with “I Love Only You” makes this 1984 single a neat meeting of country storytelling and rock’s easy-going pulse. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band bring country rock into focus here, a style that draws on the plainspoken tales and rootsy melodies of country while letting a rock beat carry them forward. Issued by Warner Bros. Records as 7-29203, the United States pressing captures a tradition built on songs that can feel intimate without losing their drive. The contrast between these two titles gives the pairing its character: one hints at a story left just out of view, the other offers a direct declaration.
