The Temptations - Take A Look Around / Smooth Sailing (From Now On)

Description
There’s a lovely tension in soul: a song can feel intimate and still carry the lift of a whole room. The Temptations bring that spirit to “Take A Look Around,” paired here with “Smooth Sailing (From Now On).” Both titles invite a little reflection, but their words don’t need to be guessed at for this pairing to have its own appeal. Soul’s enduring pleasure lies in the way direct feeling meets a carefully shaped song, making personal thoughts feel shared. Issued in 1972 on Gordy as G 7115F, this single belongs to a tradition built on expressive voices and memorable songwriting—a form that keeps feeling close at hand.
