The Time - The Walk / The Bird

Description
Funk has always known how to turn a rhythm into an invitation, and The Time make that spirit the heart of this 1982 single. “The Walk” sets one side of the story in motion; “The Bird” takes up the other, giving the record two sharply named calls to the dance floor. With the Minneapolis sound’s sleek blend of funk, soul and pop as its wider backdrop, the pairing feels rooted in a tradition where groove and personality belong together. Issued by Warner Bros. Records as 7-29856, this United States release captures a moment when synth-funk brought fresh polish to funk’s communal pulse.
