The Turbans - When You Dance / Let Me Show You (Around My Heart)

Description
“When You Dance” and “Let Me Show You (Around My Heart)” make a lovely pairing on this 7-inch single by The Turbans: one title turns toward the dance floor, the other toward a more tender kind of invitation. Herald’s H-458 brings together two strands of the group’s doo-wop and rhythm-and-blues setting, where close vocal harmonies and a steady pop pulse give the song its shape. Doo-wop grew from the pleasure of voices meeting in harmony, often with a simple rhythmic foundation carrying the tune. That tradition makes room for both motion and romance, and these titles hold those ideas side by side.
