The Vocal Minority - A Vice Precedent / We Love You Spiro (A Healthy, Normal American Boy From “Bye Bye Birdie”)

Description
On Wizdom Records, W 1970, The Vocal Minority turn political satire into pop with a sharp sense of comic timing. “A Vice Precedent” sets up the record’s pointed wordplay, while “We Love You Spiro (A Healthy, Normal American Boy From “Bye Bye Birdie”)” folds a knowing theatrical reference into its joke. Satirical pop has long found room to make public life feel less solemn, using familiar tunes and punchlines to invite listeners into the argument. Here, the titles themselves set the scene, balancing political cheek with the bright language of popular entertainment. The result is a compact meeting of topical humor and pop’s gift for making a point memorable.
