Thelma Houston - Don't Leave Me This Way / Today Will Soon Be Yesterday

Description
Disco knows how to turn a plea into a pulse. Thelma Houston brings that sense of urgency to “Don't Leave Me This Way,” a 1976 Motown single where soul’s emotional directness meets the steady lift of the dance floor. The flip, “Today Will Soon Be Yesterday,” offers a striking title alongside it, giving the record a second point of entry without needing to borrow the A-side’s words. Motown’s 5C 006-98552 pressing, made in Holland, belongs to a moment when disco carried soul into clubs and kept its human ache close. That tension—release and longing together—is part of the tradition’s lasting pull.
