Tina Turner - Typical Male / Don't Turn Around

Description
“Typical Male” and “Don't Turn Around” make an intriguing pair: one title suggests a playful tussle, the other a plea to reconsider. On this 1986 Capitol Records single, Tina Turner brings her unmistakable presence to pop shaped by rock, soul and the sleek textures of synth-pop. The meeting of those traditions gives the release its character without smoothing away soul’s expressive heart. Turner is a singer, and that simple fact matters here: these songs put a distinctive voice at the center, where pop’s concise form can meet the emotional directness of soul. Issued in the USA as B-5615, it captures two contrasting titles in one compact release.
