Tommy Henderson - This Is Your Life / Hitch Hikers Blues

Description
Funk and soul have always made room for a little mystery: a groove can feel both grounded and open-ended, with jazz’s freedom and psychedelic color widening the path. Tommy Henderson gives that contrast a neat two-part shape here. “This Is Your Life” leads, while “Hitch Hikers Blues” turns the attention toward a different title and mood without asking the listener to choose between them. The songs sit within the rich conversation between funk, soul-jazz and jazz-funk, where rhythmic drive and improvisational spirit can share the same space. Glo-Senga Records issued the single as NR5684-1, a small window into that musical meeting ground.
