Vangelis - Eric's Theme / Chariots Of Fire - Titles

Description
Vangelis brings the spacious reach of electronic music to the screen, where a few carefully chosen sounds can carry the weight of a whole scene. On this 1981 single, “Eric's Theme” opens one side of the story, while “Chariots Of Fire - Titles” gives the other its own place in the film’s world. The pairing sits at a meeting point between modern classical writing and the ambient tradition: music shaped not only by melody, but by atmosphere and space. Issued by Polydor as PD 2189, it reflects the score’s distinctive role in cinema, where music can make an image linger after the scene has moved on.
