Vern Gosdin - Dream Of Me / Dream Of Me

Description
“Dream Of Me” takes the road of the country ballad: a song title that returns on both sides, giving this 1981 single a quietly unusual shape. Vern Gosdin was a country singer, and his name belongs naturally in a tradition where plainspoken songs make room for longing, tenderness and the ache of everyday life. This USA pressing appeared on Ovation Records as OV 1171, carrying “Dream Of Me” on side A and side B alike. There’s something fitting in that repetition: country ballads often linger on a feeling rather than hurry past it, and here the title itself comes around once more.
