Verrill Keene - Lilly’S Back / Velvet Waters

Description
Clarinet-led jazz has a way of turning a melody into a lively conversation: a clear line steps forward, then the rhythm seems to answer. Verrill Keene brings that tradition into focus across “Lilly’S Back” and “Velvet Waters,” two titles that give this Shulton 7-inch a neat contrast without needing a story invented around them. Dixieland’s appeal lies in its sense of interplay, where a tune can feel both carefully shaped and ready to take an unexpected turn. Issued in the United States as F-5845, this single offers a small, direct encounter with clarinet-led instrumental jazz and its enduring gift for spirited musical exchange.
