Whitney Houston - So Emotional / For The Love Of You

Description
Whitney Houston brings bright pop immediacy to this 1987 single, pairing “So Emotional” with “For The Love Of You.” The first title speaks to the grand, open-hearted language of soul and pop: feelings made bold enough to fill a room, carried by the kind of polished synth-pop that defined much of the decade’s mainstream sound. Its companion title points toward love’s gentler, more intimate side, giving the release a graceful contrast without turning it into a simple mood pairing. Issued in the United States by Arista as AS1-9642, this 7-inch single catches Houston in a moment when pop’s electronic sheen and soul’s expressive directness met naturally.
