Will Glahe And His Orchestra / Will Glahe And His Orchestra And Chorus - Schweizer Kanton-Polka / Liechtensteiner Polka

Description
Polka has a way of turning a simple tune into an invitation to move. On this London single, Will Glahe And His Orchestra play “Schweizer Kanton-Polka,” while “Liechtensteiner Polka” brings in Will Glahe And His Orchestra And Chorus. The two titles sit within a lively folk tradition built around recurring dance rhythms and melodies made to travel from one gathering to the next. Glahe is a German bandleader associated with polka, and this American pressing, catalog number 45-1755, connects that musical tradition with two named polkas. Their titles point toward a shared Central European dance heritage, where the polka’s pulse remains the heart of the form.
