Z.Z. Hill - You Better Take Time / It Can Be Fixed

Description
There’s a bluesy plainspokenness at the heart of Z.Z. Hill’s music, where a song can make its point without dressing it up. On this 7-inch single, “You Better Take Time” sits alongside “It Can Be Fixed,” two titles that hint at life’s hard choices without telling us how to hear them. Blues has long carried feeling through direct lines, expressive phrasing and the tension between sorrow and resolve; rhythm and blues gives that tradition a supple, song-centered pulse. Mhr Records issued the American pressing as MH 224. Hill’s name belongs to the blues and rhythm-and-blues tradition, where the human voice remains the story’s surest guide.
